Terms of Service

1What Tesseract does

Tesseract turns a written description into a parametric 3D model you can adjust, and then — if you choose — has that model printed by a third-party manufacturing partner and shipped to you. Designing and ordering are separate decisions: nothing is manufactured and nothing is charged until you complete checkout.

2Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to place an order. Sign-in is through Google; you're responsible for the security of the Google account you use and for what happens in your Tesseract session. Keep your email and shipping details accurate — they're how we reach you about an order, and we can't recover a parcel sent to an address that was mistyped.

3Your prompts, your designs

You keep ownership of what you write. To the extent we hold any rights in the model generated from your prompt, we assign them to you on payment, and otherwise grant you a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, modify, print and sell it. In return you grant us the licence we need to actually run the Service: to store your prompts, send them to our model provider, generate and render the model, manufacture and ship the part, and keep a record of what was ordered.

You're responsible for what you submit. Don't upload photographs of, or describe, things you don't have the right to reproduce.

4Generated output

Models are produced by an AI system. Two things follow, and both matter:

• Output isn't unique to you. Someone submitting a similar description may receive a similar model. We make no claim that any output is original, non-infringing, or protectable.
• Output isn't engineered for a purpose. Dimensions, tolerances, wall thickness and strength are the model's best reading of your description. Check the measurements before you order — that's what the sliders are for.

5What the parts are, and what they aren't

Parts are printed in thermoplastic filament by fused-deposition printing. They are consumer-grade objects. Do not use anything made with Tesseract where failure could cause injury, death or significant loss — including load-bearing structural use, climbing or fall protection, vehicles or aircraft, medical, dental or implantable devices, electrical or gas fittings, firearms or firearm components, cookware, or anything within reach of a child small enough to swallow it. How you use what you print is your responsibility.

6Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to design, order or distribute weapons or weapon components; anything that infringes someone else's intellectual property; anything illegal where you are or where we are; counterfeit goods; tools whose purpose is to defeat a lock or security device you don't own; or anything intended to harm a person or an animal.

Don't work around rate limits, scrape the Service, resell access to it, or use its output to train a competing model. Prompts are screened automatically, and we may refuse, cancel or refund any request.

7Prices, quotes and payment

Prices are in US dollars and quoted all-in: printing and shipping are both included in the number you see before you pay. Sales tax, duties and import fees may be added at checkout or charged on delivery depending on where you ship.

A quote covers a specific model, material and quantity, and expires 30 minutes after it's issued. Payment is processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number. Completing checkout authorises us to charge the quoted amount and to place the manufacturing order on your behalf.

If a price is obviously wrong — a display or calculation error, rather than a price you think is too high — we may cancel and refund in full instead of fulfilling the order.

8Manufacturing and delivery

Parts are manufactured by a third-party print partner and ship directly from their facility. Any lead time shown in the Service is an estimate, not a guarantee; production and carrier delays are not on their own grounds for a refund. Title and risk of loss pass to you when the carrier takes possession. If a shipment goes missing in transit, tell us and we'll chase it with the carrier.

9Cancellations, returns and refunds

Every part is manufactured to your order and your dimensions. Once production starts, an order can't be cancelled and a part can't be returned because you changed your mind, mismeasured, or don't like how the design came out.

We will replace or refund a part that arrives:

• defective — layer separation, warping, incomplete printing or a similar manufacturing fault;
• damaged in transit; or
• materially different from the model you ordered.

Email hello@tesseract.build within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photographs of the problem. We'll choose between a reprint and a refund, and we'll cover return shipping if we need the part back. This sits on top of any consumer-law rights you have that can't be waived by agreement.

10Our intellectual property

The Service itself — the site, the app, the builder library behind it, the prompts that drive it, the name and the mark — is ours. These Terms give you the right to use it, not to copy it.

11Availability

Tesseract is a young product under active development. We may change, suspend or withdraw features without notice, and we don't promise the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Orders already paid for will be fulfilled or refunded.

12Disclaimers

Except where the law says otherwise, the Service and everything produced through it are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, dimensional accuracy, or the suitability of any design for any use.

13Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Tesseract is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or business interruption, arising out of the Service or anything made with it. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and US $100.

Some places don't permit these limits. Where that's so, they apply as far as they're permitted, and nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

14Indemnity

You'll defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the Service, what you submit to it, and what you do with what you make — including a claim that a design you ordered infringes someone else's rights.

15Termination

You can stop using the Service whenever you like and ask us to delete your account — see the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms or if we're legally required to. Clauses 3–5 and 9–17 survive termination.

16Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing anything, email hello@tesseract.build and give us 30 days to put it right — most problems are a reprint. If that doesn't work, disputes go to the state and federal courts located in Delaware, and we each consent to that jurisdiction.

17Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we'll say so here and update the date at the top; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept it. The Terms that apply to an order are the ones in force when you placed it.
